      This talk gives an overview of the concept of Translanguaging, tracing its different origins and developments over time. It will also explore the applications of the concept in various fields, from education to social media.

      Professor Li Wei is Director and Dean of the UCL Institute of Education, at University College London, where he also holds a Chair in Applied Linguistics. He is a Fellow of the British Academy, Academia Europaea, Academy of Social Sciences (UK), and the Royal Society of Arts (UK). He is Editor of the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism and Applied Linguistics Review. His publications have won many prizes including the British Association of Applied Linguistics Book Prize twice.
