报告人简介：

Prof. Mohamed Meguid，加拿大麦吉尔大学土木工程系主任，William Scott讲席教授，美国土木工程学会土工合成材料技术委员会委员。Prof. Meguid师从美、英、加五院院士Kerry Rowe，主要从事交通岩土工程与土工合成材料技术的理论和应用研究工作，至今已发表130余篇期刊论文和会议论文，出版专著两部，并多次获得加拿大自然科学基金委奖章、加拿大岩土工程学会奖章，以及麦吉尔大学最佳教授等荣誉，同时担任国际知名期刊Geotechnical and Geological Engineering主编，Geotextiles and Geomembranes副主编，以及Canadian Geotechnical Journal编委等学术职务。

报告简介：

Dr. Meguid's talk addresses the impact of climate change and geohazards on geo-structures. It underscores the importance of understanding climate-related vulnerabilities, such as changes in temperature and precipitation. A key aspect of this research is its collaborative approach, integrating efforts from both academia and industry to develop more resilient and sustainable infrastructure. The talk will explore the role of geosynthetics in transportation embankments, evaluate moisture control methods, and highlight the necessity for new design models to respond to climate change. This presentation not only emphasizes the urgency for innovation but also encourages active participation in shaping a sustainable future for transportation infrastructure.
